The Industry has been waiting... It's been thrown from one ministry to the other, the policy is set to be launched soon...

The New Dawn Government says it will launch the national film policy that will support the local film industry.

Minister Of Youth, Sport, and Arts ELVIS NKANDU says Government is carrying out consultative meetings with various stakeholders on the film policy so that it contributes to job and wealth creation.

Mr. NKANDU said this in a speech read on his behalf by Permanent Secretary KANGWA CHILESHE at the ceremony where 7 Zambian filmmakers were nominated to the eighth edition Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards set for May 14 in Nigeria.

Mr. NKANDU said film and television production are not only for enriching lives but also to create employment opportunities for the young people.

And Multi-choice talent factory Academy Director CHRIS PUTA said they have taken a keen interest in developing talent as demonstrated in their commitment to supporting the film and television industries.

Speaking at the same event, Multi-choice Zambia Head of Marketing CHIKO HANDAHU said the multi-choice continues to strive to increase local content so that it enriches the lives of people.
